This is the motto of the RHS and at Robert Johnson Garden Design, we believe to be the cornerstone to good planting design.

In order to create a garden which not only thrives but looks in-keeping with it’s surroundings, we choose our plants carefully. Each design we create has a bespoke planting palette, tailored to not just the look we are trying to achieve but more “the feeling” we are trying to create for its owner.

Based in Stamford, we offer planting design services in the whole of the Stamford & Rutland area, along with all surrounding areas, including Bourne and Oakham.

There’s not just colour to think about.

Evergreen structure, mass, height and texture are almost more important. Creating a planting design is like choreographing a fireworks display; When will each element go off? How long will it last for? Will there be something interesting happening through the seasons? Which colours work together and what effect do they create?
